According to Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) — a subsidiary of the very provincial government-owned SAQ, which has a legislated monopoly (Quelle belle surprise) on the sale of recreational cannabis within the province of Québec. Spokesman Fabrice Giguère said the SQDC, as far as deciding where to “spark up” a government cannabis outlet is concerned, “proceeds according to market and areas.”
Interesting. The next location set to open in March at 1866 Sources Blvd. in Pointe-Claire (for those who are waiting with bated breath) where the Bourbon Street West bar used to be located, is just the fifth outlet on the island of Montreal. (Who knew that laissez-faire La Belle Province would be the country’s most stuffed shirt about legalization of Mary Jane, second only to Pretty Edward Island?)
