According to MLive, More than a month after canceling its “grand opening,” a Muskegon marijuana dispensary plans to celebrate its opening to recreational adult users.
Bella Sol Wellness Centers, 1839 Peck St., which has sold medicinal marijuana since September 2019, originally planned to open for recreational business on Jan. 18, shortly after receiving final approval of state permits. But a shortage of available product postponed its opening festivities.
Although the company has been selling recreational product for several weeks, it will host two days of celebratory events to officially mark its entrance into the “adult use,” or recreational, market. The events are scheduled from from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14.
The opening hoopla will feature a raffle, “spin-the-wheel” prize giveaway, free food and swag, along with some unnamed “surprises,” according to event organizers. A registered nurse will be on hand for free patient consultations and to answer questions.
Bella Sol is located off Laketon Avenue, across from Marsh Field, in the area recently zoned as Muskegon’s cannabis district.
It joins Park Place Provisionary, 1922 Park St. in Muskegon, which opened last summer and launched recreational sales in January.
Recreational marijuana was legalized in the state of Michigan in November 2018, 10 years after medical marijuana was approved. The city of Muskegon and Muskegon Township approved recreational marijuana in October 2019.
